Fund Overview
The East Youlstone Community Benefit Fund, in Devon, has £15,000 available per year for community projects.
The Fund allows groups to apply for grants between £250 and £7,500.
There is one application round each year. The application closing date for 2025 is 26 March.
Project Purpose
Priority will be given to:
• Energy efficiency or renewable energy projects, such as insulation, efficient boilers or small scale renewable energy installations.
• Training or education projects, especially vocational training for unemployed young people aged under 25.
• Projects for school age children, or older people.
• Any other community projects for the benefit of residents of the local area.
Eligible Organisations
Eligible Organisations, who can apply for funding include:
• Voluntary, community groups
• Parish Councils
• Schools and educational establishments
• Social enterprises and Community Interest Companies operating on a non-profit-distributing basis. These are defined by Social UK as ‘businesses that trade to tackle social problems, improve communities, people’s life chances, or the environment. They make their money from selling goods and services in the open market, but they reinvest their profits back into the business or the local community’. These organisations must have a minimum of three unrelated Directors, that also do not reside at the same address.
Applicants are required to have a written constitution, a set of rules, or a governing document and a bank or building society account, held in the name of the organisation, in place before applying for a grant.
Organisations that have already received grants from the Fund can apply for further grants each year.
