Arrangements for the National period of Mourning following the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

Following the sad news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II – I am able to confirm the following arrangements in the Parish of Morwenstow so far.


There is much protocol to follow. There will be a book of condolence available in the Church of St Morwenna and St John the Baptist from tomorrow (10th September).


Cut flowers only (no wrapping or cellophane please) may be placed in the porch of the Church on the right hand side.


On Saturday 10th September; the Principal Proclamation will be made at St James's Palace. During this time the Union Flag will return to Full Mast from 11am that day until 1pm the following day.


On Sunday 11th September; following the County Level Proclamations. A Proclamation will be read at 6.15pm, at the Church by our Parish Council Chairman – Jonathan Hobbs.
